Seawit Co-Hosts Functional Lipid Seminar with Jiangnan University

The Boao Health Food Science Conference and Expo, abbreviated as FHE, is the world’s first high-end dialogue platform focusing on the scientific evidence of health benefits of food, advocated by Academician Chen Junshi and Professor Luo Yunbo, along with over ten academicians and authoritative experts.

The functional lipid seminar co-hosted by Seawit and Jiangnan University will begin at 14:00 on February 28, moderated by Professor Wang Xingguo. Professor Wang will also give a special presentation on “The Development History and Trends of the MLCT Industry” and the application prospects of Sn2 DHA algal oil. On the same day, Director Li Xiaoyan from Seawit will share insights on “Research and Application of Phytosterol Esters' Mechanisms of Action.”

Seawit has long focused on research innovation and application promotion of functional lipids, with shareholders including academicians from the Engineering Academy, winners of the Guanghua Award, and Taishan Scholars.

Main products and services include human milk fat substitutes, specialized fats for medical foods, functional structured lipids (natural OPO (UPU), MLCT, MCT), Sn2 DHA algal oil, ARA, refined fish oil, and fish oil powder (EPA300TG, tuna oil powder).

Seawit has undertaken key R&D programs during the 12th, 13th, and 14th Five-Year Plans, including the project “Construction and Application of Dairy Fat Database and Similarity Evaluation System,” which won the Special Prize at the China Business Federation Science and Technology Awards. Two research achievements related to human milk fat substitutes have been identified as internationally leading.

Seawit’s global first human milk fat substitute with added MLCT has been applied in infant formula, achieving over 90% similarity to human milk fat.
